Hollow Knight / Hollow Knight: Silksong - 2017 / 2025

Hollow Knight is a metroidvania game developed by Team Cherry where you play as the Knight, and must venture into the kindom of Hallowenest and discover the source of the infection that corrupts the land and its many inhabitants.

The game is challenging yet it's so addictive to swing your weapon, dodge attacks, jump on platforms, dash and so on,

I Got into this game around 2021 after seeing some of the characters and thinking they look so cool! Since than i played this game so many times and it really became one of my comfort games.

SInce i finished Hollow Knight i was very hyped to play Silksong, and the wait was rough, really rough.

But when that game released i was in the middle of work and i had to wait a few hours; so when i got home me and my friend bought the game in the same time, And it was just 2 weeks of non-stop Silksong.

This game was so much bigger than anything i expected; so many areas, enemies, NPCs, Upgrades, Tools, and i just wanted more and more.

Also something i did with this game that i never did with any game that made the experience was to journal every day and write all my discoveries and what i planned on doing later.

This may be a hot take but i like Silksong a ted bit more than Hollow Knight - like if Hollow Knight is /10 than Silksong to me is a 10/10.

The Desolate Hope - 2012

One of my favorite games ever simply because of it's unique atmosphere, complex character design, and gorgeous music.

The game is half platformer, half 8-bit dungeon crawler, and has J-RPG style battle system; it's bizzare but it works pretty flawlessly.

On an unkown planet in a base called Lun Infunus you take control over Coffee, a small sentient coffee machine bot who helps the four Derelicts who are these giant robots who were made to design simulations for exploring possibilities of human colonization in case Earth became uninhabitable.

The Station was suppose to run simulations for a five year period but the project was quickly abandoned and the last transimissions from Earth were recieved 15 years ago.

On top all that a strange virus has began to corrupt the Derelicts and each simulation, And Coffee designed "D-Co 0.9"(Digital Counterpart) to assist him with fighting the virus. There's a lot more to this story but i really recommand you go check the game yourself! It's free on Steam!

it's also made by Scott Cawthon the creator of Five Nights at Freddy's.

Gris - 2018

Gris gameplay wise is very simple; nothing very special in my opinion, but the reason it is on this page is because of the freaking increadible art, beautiful story, and soundtrack that made me cry multiple times.

In this "interactive art piece" you play as Gris, a young girl dealing with the loss of someone close to her; you travel through five areas - each representing one of the stages of grief with each one having a dominant colour.

The game is filled with symbolism yet i feel the most of it is subtle enough to allow you to interpret it in many more ways, and i think this game can be a great tool to help dealing with difficult times just like it helped me!

Also the creators behind this game "Nomada Studio" made a new game called "Neva" (that i played the second it dropped) and while gameplay wise it's an improvment over Gris, Gris' story still is that more special and memrable to me.
